Ten seconds may be all she has left …

Kate Edison witnesses her father’s death and, in order to keep his memory alive, decides to follow in his footsteps by joining the CIA. She molds herself into becoming exactly what the CIA is looking for—and captures their interest, both personally and professionally. But before she can finish the CIA process, Kate is offered a position as an espionage agent in another highly secretive government agency, which she accepts.

While completing her agency training, Kate is catapulted into a shadowy world where wealth and power are the ultimate goal, and those in charge will stop at nothing to get it. While on the job, Kate uncovers secrets that, if revealed, would cost her life, but if kept, could bring down a nation. Isolated and unsure of who to trust, she brings in a fellow agent, but pulling him into the web of conspiracy and lies puts a target on both their backs – and it will take every skill they’ve ever learned as agents to stay alive long enough to stop the enemy no one else can see.

Guest Feature

Thank you so much for featuring me on your blog! I am excited to be here. I released my first book, Ten Seconds to Dead, at the end of January. It’s been an exciting and overwhelming process. Writing a book is not something I ever imagined I would, or could, do. I was shocked to find that not only could I write a book, but that I really enjoyed doing it.

One thing about writing an espionage thriller that I didn’t anticipate were the crazy Google searches I needed to do for research. Y’all, I had to Google how to make a bomb, shadow governments, how to kill a person in one blow, poisons, how to remove an eyeball, the phases of human decomposition, how to break into different security systems, how to bug an unsuspecting person, how to use chlorophyll to get someone to pass out, an innumerable amount of conspiracy theories, and so much more.

I actually had someone who works for the government tell me that I should make my searches on a virtual private network! It was too late at that point, so….I’m pretty sure I’ve been flagged by the Feds. Hopefully they have no plans to arrest me…

On a different note, I had to ban my husband from reading my book. He would be reading it and saying things like, “Wow, that was a very detailed description of that guys calves.” Or, “Who’s the guy with the grey eyes based of off…?” Hahaha. I tried to explain that the book characters were not based on real people. But when he caught me on Instagram looking up ‘hot gingers’ (I was looking for a face for the cover of the second book in the Ten Second series, due out in May), I’m not sure he believed my excuses. I eventually had to take the book away from him and tell him to read something else. For the record, there are some very attractive redheaded males out there. If you’re ever in doubt, just look up ‘hot gingers’ on Insta.
